I met him on a friday in februari 1977, on the set in Pasadena, Los
Angeles. He was a very nice person, encouraging everybody on the set, and
drinking a lot of coffee.John Cassavetes was born in december 9, 1929, in
New York. He directed 15 films and wrote the scripts to 12 of them, and
acted in more than 35 films, among them He also made a dozen guest appearances
in television, among others Rawhide and the Alfred Hitchcock hour. His first
appearance in american television was in 1948.
He appeared in "Rosemary’s Baby" (1968) and was an Oscar
nominee for "The Dirty Dozen" (1967). Films he directed include
"A Child is Waiting" (1963), "Faces" (1968) and "A
Woman Under the Influence" (1974), the later two being nominated for
an Oscar. Married to actress Gena Rowlands.
